Management Team

Richard Cappetta> President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Cappetta was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of MicroVention, Inc. in April 2008 having previously served as Sr. Vice President for Worldwide Sales. Mr. Cappetta joined the Company in 1999 and has over 20 years of senior management experience in the medical device industry. Prior to joining MicroVention, he held senior sales and marketing management positions, both domestically and internationally, at cardiovascular firms such as Medtronic AneuRx, Target Therapeutics, Scimed Life Systems, Trimedyne, C.R. Bard, and Electro-Catheter Corp. He holds a BS degree in business administration from Arizona State University. Mr. Cappetta is a member of MicroVention's Board of Directors.


Bruce Canter> MVI Senior Vice President, Law and General Counsel
Mr. Canter was appointed MVI Senior VIce President La and General Counsel in July 2016 and has served as the Intellectual Property Counsel for MicroVention, Inc. since joining the Company in 2005. Prior to joining MicroVention, Mr. Canter had managed intellectual property law groups and had specialized in strategic patent counseling for medical device companies and served as Corporate Counsel for Baxter Healthcare. Mr. Canter has a BA in Philosophy from Brandeis, an MA from the University of Pittsburgh, a JD from the University of California at Davis and is licensed to practice in CA and before the US Patent and Trademark Office.


Matt Fitz> Senior Vice President, Research and Development and Operations
Mr. Fitz holds the role of Senior Vice President, Research and Development and Operations for MicroVention with prior roles consisting of Vice President, Manufacturing, Operations and Reliability since 2006 and as a Senior Director, Engineering and Director, Research and Development since joining the Company in 2001. Prior to joining MicroVention, Inc., Mr. Fitz held various management and technical positions at Guidant. Mr. Fitz holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Santa Clara University and an MS in Bioengineering from the University of California at San Diego and is a Registered Patent Agent licensed to practice before the US Patent Office.


Rob Greene> Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Greene holds the position of Chief Technical Officer with MicroVention. Prior to his role, he was the Senior Vice President, Research and Development for MicroVention, Inc. since joining the Company in 1998. His role as a Founder and leader has attributed to the Company's continued success in the neuroendovascular business. Mr. Greene has over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry and has held various senior management positions in Research and Development, Operations and Manufacturing with companies such as MicroTherapeutics, Inc., Vesica Medical, Inc., Advanced Surgical Intervention, Inc. and Shiley, Inc. He holds a BS degree in Industrial Technology from California State University, Long Beach.


William Hughes> Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer
Mr. Hughes was appointed Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer of MicroVention, Inc. In April 2008 having previously served as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since joining the Company in 2002. Mr. Hughes has over 25 years of experience in medical and other technology sectors while hold senior financial positions in public companies and as a former partner and manager in the accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick. Mr. Hughes hold a BS degree in economics from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo with concentrations in finance and accounting. Mr. Hughes is a member of MicroVention's Board of Directors.


Cherie Henket> Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources
Ms. Henket was appointed Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources of MicroVention, Inc. in July 2016 having previously served as the Sr. Vice President of Human Resources and the Director of Human Resources since joining the Company in 2006. Ms. Henket has approximately 20 years of Human Resources experience and has held various senior and management human resources positions in primarily technology companies such as Sanera Systems/McDATA Corp., Jetstream Communications and Sun Microsystems. She holds a JD from Western State University, College of Law and a BA in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Long Beach.


Jun Hoshino> Vice President, Asia Pacific / Latin America and Worldwide Sales Planning
Mr. Hoshino was appointed to Vice President, Asia Pacific/Latin America Sales & Worldwide Sales planning of MicroVention Inc. in 2010 following his position as a VP, Strategic Planning & Business Development. Mr. Hoshino was an integral member of the Terumo/MicroVention Acquisition and Transition Team and has over 20 years' experience in various global sales/Marketing and business development positions with MicroVention and its parent company, Terumo Corporation. Mr. Hoshino holds an MBA from Washington University, Olin School of Business, St. Louis, MO, focusing on Management Strategy and Financial Accounting and BA in Biochemistry.


Irina Kulinets> Senior Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Research and Quality
Mrs. Kulinets was appointed Senior Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Research and Quality in July 2016 having previously served as the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance since joining MicroVention Inc. in April 2015. Prior to MicroVention, Mrs. Kulinets was the General Manager – EVP of Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, HEOR and Quality Assurance at R&C Consulting Group. Mrs. Kulinets received her Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Belarus Polytechnic Academy, received a 2nd Master’s degree in Quality Assurance from California State University, Long Beach and received her PhD in Health Science from Trident University, Cypress.


Glenn Latham> Senior Global Market Development and North American Sales Administration
Mr. Latham hold the position of Senior Global Market Development and North American Sales Administration having previously served as Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and the Director of Worldwide Marketing since joining the Company in 2001. Mr. Latham has nearly 30 years experience in the medical device industry where he has held various executive sales and marketing positions with firms such as Cordis Corp., Micro Therapeutics, Inc. and IntraLuminal Therapeutics, Inc. He holds a BS degree in Chemistry and MBA from the University of Florida.


Charlie Noel> Vice President, International Operations (Costa Rica and China)
Mr. Noel holds the role of Vice President, International Operations (Costa Rica and China) having previously Vice President of Operations for MicroVention in 2007. Mr. Noel has extensive experience in the medical device industry with companies such as Abbott Vascular, WL Gore Medical, and Johnson & Johnson. He holds a MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BS in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering from the Charter Oak State College.


Shawn O'Leary> Vice President, Business CAIS
Mr. O'Leary was appointed Vice President, Business for CAIS MicroVention, Inc. in July 2015, having previously as Sr. Director of Research and Development since joining the Company in 2007. Mr. O'Leary has over 20 years of experience in the field of medical device development, and has been pursuing various management and technical positions in research and development and manufacturing with companies such as Orqis Medical, Inc., RightTrack Engineering, Inc., ProDuct Health, Inc., LocalMed, Inc., and Baxter Healthcare Corporation. He holds a MBA degree from UCLA's Anderson School of Management and a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University.


Bill Patterson> Vice President, Neurovascular R&D
Mr. Patterson was appointed Vice President, Neurovascular R&D in July 2016. Mr. Patterson has over 20 years of medical device and academic experience. Prior to MicroVention, Mr. Patterson served as the Vice President, R&D and Operations at Sequent Medical, which was acquired by MicroVention's parent company Terumo Medical in 2016. Mr. Patterson has worked in various R&D positions for Baxter Healthcare, TherOx, Micro Therapeutics, ev3, and Luminous Medical. Mr. Patterson received BS and PhD degrees from UC Davis and UC Irvine and a postdoctoral fellow at the UCLA-DOE Institute.


Amy Walters> Vice President, Clinical Research & Regulatory Affairs WEB
Ms. Walters was appointed Vice President, Clinical Research & Regulatory Affairs WEB in July 2016. Prior to joining MicroVention, Ms. Walters was VP, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs for Sequent Medical, Biosense Webster (a Johnson & Johnson Company), Smith & Nephew, and Summit Technology. Ms. Walters holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both History and Science at Harvard University.


Mark Yager> Director, North American Sales
Mr. Yager joined MicroVention, Inc. in 2002 as a Territory Sales Manager. After the acquisition of Terumo in 2006, Mr. Yager was promoted to Western Regional Sales Manager and then moved to his current position in 2008 as Director of North America Sales. Prior to joining MicroVention, Mr. Yager has worked for various medical device companies including Allergan, Olympus, and Johnson and Johnson. He holds a BS in Business Management from Northwest Missouri State University.


Todd Zive headshot Todd Zive> Vice President, Worldwide Marketing
Mr. Zive was appointed Vice President, Worldwide Marketing of MicroVention, Inc. in April 2014 having previously served as Director of Marketing for Neurovascular Products since joining the Company in 2010. Mr. Zive has over 15 years of experience working for companies including Applied Medical, Ev3 (Covidien), and Masimo Corporation. He holds a BS degree in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
